Martin Major

JUNIOR SCHOOL
Jenny Milne
These teachers share the workload of teaching new entrants, administration and care of special needs. Jenny is our Deputy Principal, and leads the Junior syndicate, programmes Year1-4. She organizes assemblies. She is based in Room 9
Shona King
Shona has the new entrant class in Room 9 .
Fiona Cook
Fiona teaches Years 0-1 students in R8. She is also the Literacy leader for our school and is an associate teacher. She also runs the Kick Start breakfast programme (back to photo)

Tina teaches Year 1 and 2 students in Room 7
Ruth Kenney
Amy teaches Year 2 and 3 students in Room 6.

SENIOR SCHOOL

Andrea Smith

Andrea is our Assistant Principal. She teaches a class of Year 7 and 8 students, based in Room 2 . She is the arts- music and drama resource teacher, advanced learning programmes for children with special abilities, second languages, and career education. She runs the House System and the Choir. She is responsible for Years 5-8 programmes.
Kathrine Sefton
Kathrine teaches Year 7-8 students in Room 1 . She leads organization of dance programmes. She is reponsible for sport and Jump Jam. She is an Associate Teacher.
Kim Turner

Kim teaches a Year 5-6 class in Room 3, . He also provides leadership across the School in our Learning Experiences Outside the Classroom programme, Physical Education/Sport and science. KIm is an Associate Teacher.

Neil Bowdler

Neil is based in Room 4 and teaches a class of Year 4-5 students. He is our resource teacher for Values Education, and is responsible for the management of our Library Information Centre. Neil is the School’s Site Representative for NZEI (New Zealand Educational Institute), and is staff rep on the Board. of Trustees. He is responsible for Taha Maori in the Middle School and is an associate teacher.

Dean Rush

Sharman Robin

Dean is the senior class teacher and Whānau team leader, teaching the Tuakana class, Yrs 5-8) in Room 14. He leads the numeracy and Te Reo programmes and has responsibility for mathematics and statistics throughout the school. As he is away on study leave, Tuakana is being taught by Sharman Robin

Jessie teaches the Potiki class in Room 13.(Years 5-8)
Aunty Mere Kingi
Aunty Mere is our Kaiarahi i te Reo (“Teacher of the Language”) in the Whānau. She provides guidance for the School in Tikanga Maori, leads our Kapa Haka group and is responsible for the Aniwaniwa Reading Programme.
Sue Pryde
Sue is the district Resource Teacher of Maori, and is based in our Whānau unit. She has School-wide responsibility for Te eo/Tikanga Maori.

MOTUEKA TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION CENTRE (MoTEC)
Brian Barton
Brian is the Associate Principal, leading the MoTEC team. He is responsible for the Year 7-8 Technology Programme. He organizes Road Patrol.
Garret Young
Garret is a teacher.
Karyn McKerrow

Karyn is a part-time teacher, who is also the Site Representative for the PPTA (Post-primary Teachers' Association),and has responsibility for technology from Yrs1 to 6.

Megan Wilson
Megan is also a part-time teacher. She leads the School’s Health Programmes and is responsible for the Fruit in Schools programme.

 

Meeka Inglis
Meeka is a part-time teacher, providing Senior and Beginning teacher release and is also responsible for the assessment and reporting data-base.

ANCILLARY STAFF
Adriaan Steyn
Adriaan is our Executive Officer, Finance Officer and the Board Treasurer. He also takes care of A & E – “Anything and Everything”.
Penny Bedford
Penny is the School Secretary and Receptionist. Penny also takes care of A & E.
Anne Walker
Anne is part-time office assistant, and secretary to the Board of Trustees, also A and E.
Becky Frost.
Becky is our librarian. She adminsters the Books in Homes programme.
Linda Glue
Strengthening Families co-ordinator.
Dawn Piggot
Dawn, a Parklands ex-pupil, is part-time social worker here and at Motueka South School

Helga Reissman, Elise Jenkin, Janice Brown, Stephanie Neal, Craig Hampton, Tammy Holtham, Tania Davies and Lisa Viuiyasawa

Helga, Elise, Janice, Stephanie, Tammy, Tania Craig and Lisa are teacher-aides. They assist with the Special Needs Programmes throughout the School.

Vaughan Creighton
Vaughan is our Recreation Officer. He assists teachers with the Phys Ed Programme, issues sports gear to students at morning and lunch breaks and supervises playground games.
