TEACHER, ANDREA SMITH, ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL
|
There are 22 in our class of Year 7 and 8 students, 10 to 13 year-olds. Our teacher is Andrea Smith, the Assistant Principal of the school. Our main aim this year is to be the best that we can be. Other aims are to improve our literary skills. Our teacher is upskilling and so are we!! Planned highlights for this year are: Zero day out, the first to Anchorage, school musical productions, Year 7 and 8 summer sports, Turangawaewae festival, ski trip, winter tournament and Kids for Kids. Many of us participate in sports outside school hours. These are: cricket, golf, touch, theatre, hip-hop, dancing, horse-riding, Rugby, soccer, netball, to name but a few. We are working on giving others the opportunity to speak without butting in. What we enjoy most is: LUNCHTIME, art, swimming, singing, MOTeC and sport as well as seeing our teacher every day (how nice) Our class is a special class because the people in it are funny, sporty and just plain SPECIAL!! |

AWESOME AUTHORS
This year, staff are focusing on improving the teaching and learning of writing. We will be showcasing student writers in our ‘Awesome Authors’ spot. Kelsey is our first Awesome Author with her poem below.
| My head is filled with stories beyond imagination In my head there is not just one way It is filled with intersections and give way signs for all my ideas There is a powerful force deep inside my mind With Kelsey 1 and Kelsey 2 giving me suggestions And hope and courage leading me all the way By Kelsey, Room 2 |
