The transition class is a very special class to help children make the change from pre-school to school. We are just a small group and get lots of attention from our teachers, Fiona, Annie and Jenny. . We work at making friends, being helpful, and following instructions.

We also begin to read, write stories and learn about numbers, as well as other important learning.

After a time in this class, we are confident with the rules and routines of the school, and are happy to move into the next.

We are very well-behaved. This is our first slice of school life and we are AWESOME

Thomas and Teacher-aide Craig are not in the main photo.
We have been studying the monarch butterfly. Near our classroom we have a swan plant where the butterflies lay their eggs. These soon hatch into the stripy caterpillars which get big and fat, eating the plants. They then turn into monarch butterflies and away they go to start again.
We made our own monarch butterflies using orange and black paper to fit the pattern properly. View the slideshow of our work. Click in the middle.
